Aave Expands Chainlink SVR Across Networks As DAO Moves To Capture More Value

Aave’s community has backed another major upgrade, voting almost unanimously to expand Chainlink’s SVR system to Arbitrum and Base.

The decision shows just how much confidence the DAO now has in the model, especially after seeing how it performed on Ethereum.

This wasn’t a controversial vote or one that split opinions. If anything, it felt like a natural next step. Contributors and token holders are increasingly focused on making the protocol more efficient, and more profitable, without changing its core structure. Expanding SVR ticks both boxes.

At its core, the move is about keeping more value inside the ecosystem instead of letting it slip away to external actors.

Building On Proven Success From Ethereum Deployment

The push to expand SVR didn’t come out of theory, it came from results. On Ethereum, Aave has already used the system to recapture more than $16.7 million in non-toxic liquidation MEV.

That number matters. In a space where small inefficiencies can add up quickly, recovering that level of value is a big deal. It’s also helped shift the conversation around MEV. Instead of treating it as an unavoidable cost of doing business in DeFi, Aave is showing that some of it can actually be redirected.

For users and contributors, it’s a simple idea: if value is being generated within the protocol, it should benefit the protocol.

How Chainlink SVR Changes The Game For DeFi

Chainlink SVR takes a different approach to how liquidation value is handled. Normally, when positions get liquidated, bots and searchers compete aggressively to capture the opportunity. That competition often leads to value leaking out of the system.

SVR doesn’t remove that competition, it reshapes it. Built alongside BGD Labs, the system allows Aave to capture what’s considered “non-toxic” MEV and bring it back into the protocol.

There are already more than 96 independent searchers participating, which keeps things competitive but within a structure that benefits Aave rather than draining it. It’s a subtle shift, but an important one.

Instead of fighting over scraps, the system is designed so that everyone plays within rules that keep the protocol itself in a stronger position.

Expanding Across Arbitrum, Base, And Beyond

With the latest rollout, SVR is now live for Aave on Arbitrum and Base, adding to its existing presence on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Hyperliquid’s HyperEVM.

This kind of expansion reflects how DeFi actually works today. Activity isn’t concentrated on one chain anymore, users and liquidity move across ecosystems. For Aave, keeping its infrastructure consistent across these networks is key.

It also increases the potential upside. More chains mean more liquidations, and more liquidations mean more chances to capture value that would otherwise be lost.

Rather than treating each network separately, Aave is building a system that works wherever its users are.

Atlas Acquisition Accelerates SVR Adoption

Part of what’s helped speed things up is Chainlink’s acquisition of Atlas. While integrations like this can take time, that move has clearly accelerated how quickly SVR is being rolled out across different ecosystems.

For Aave, it means faster access to tools that are already proving useful. It also adds another layer of reliability, since the system is built on the same Chainlink infrastructure that has supported the protocol for over six years.

That history matters. In DeFi, trust isn’t built overnight, and Aave isn’t experimenting with something completely new, it’s expanding something that’s already been tested in live conditions.

Strengthening DAO Revenue And Long-Term Sustainability

Zooming out, this move is really about sustainability. Aave isn’t just trying to grow, it’s trying to grow in a way that makes sense long term.

By capturing MEV that would normally leave the system, the protocol is creating an additional stream of revenue without introducing new risks. That’s a rare balance in DeFi, where increasing returns often comes with added complexity or exposure.

The strong support behind the vote also says a lot. It shows that the community is aligned on where things are heading and willing to adopt new mechanisms if they deliver real results.

There’s still more to prove as SVR expands across these networks, but the early signs are encouraging. For now, Aave is making a clear bet, that smarter infrastructure can quietly make a big difference over time.

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
