PYRAX Network: Being Built by the Community to Deliver What Was Promised by BlockDAG???— Transparently

I am an investor in BlockDAG since March 2024 and I am not an investor at this time in Pyrax. I am not a crypto analyst and these are my thoughts and opinions not investment advice or any other type of advice.

By Josh Case

As BlockDAG Network continues its floundering — marked by silence, lack of transparency, unanswered questions, community frustration, shifting timelines and deflated expectations — some members of the BlockDAG investor community chose to start building their own DAG network.

I hope this will be the wake up call that is needed to get the key players in the “transition” to deliver on promises and to be transparent because money is being attracted else where within the community that supported BlockDAG.

If curious about the ongoing BlockDAG situation and the frustration that potentially led to the creation of PYRAX read my article from yesterday here: “Silent Night: The BlockDAG’s Version “Unholy Night” — No Official AMA Updates on Transition Since December 4th”

PYRAX Network

PYRAX appears to be a continuation of BlockDAG belief — but guided by lessons learned especially around transparency and accountability.

What Is PYRAX Network?

PYRAX Chain (PYRX) claims to be a next-generation Layer 1 blockchain designed from the ground up to combine BlockDAG scalability, Proof-of-Work security, and zero-knowledge cryptographic finality — without sacrificing transparency or decentralization.

At its core, PYRAX says it will be a PoW BlockDAG L1 with EVM execution, powered by a TriStream ZK-DAG architecture that unifies ASIC miners, GPU/CPU miners, and zero-knowledge verification into a single, coherent system.

Unlike traditional Proof-of-Work chains that rely on probabilistic finality, PYRAX says it introduces mathematical certainty using ZK-STARKs (Zero-Knowledge Scalable Transparent ARguments of Knowledge) — bringing cryptographic finality to PoW for the first time at scale.

Why PYRAX Exists?

The PYRAX team says they will have a working network before the presale begins so it is not being created to draw attention through marketing claims and sensationalism — it is being created to compete through execution of technology. That methodology is anti-BlockDAG and anti most if not all crypto presale schemes.

This project is here because its founders and contributors say they want to do it the way it should be done before taking public presale money by having:

• Technology that will be viable and proven before the presale commences

• Leadership with clear guidelines for accountability and transparency that the community is comfortable with

• A community that trusts leadership and leadership respects

PYRAX clearly is a direct response to hard-earned lessons from other crypto projects.

PYRAX Network could represent a step forward for builders, miners, and investors who still believe in community-built infrastructure and open execution — but demand better communication and strong leadership after what has been taught by the BlockDAG journey and other disappointing projects. Hopefully these three concepts are never forgotten by the PYRAX Team:

• Transparency and proof over hype and rocketships

• Third Party Verification and Open Books over control

• Accountability and responsibility over excuses and nonsense answers

Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future

The post Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. “It’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress,” writes Pipes. Getty Images Washington is addicted to taxing success. Now, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is floating a plan to skim half the patent earnings from inventions developed at universities with federal funding. It’s being sold as a way to shore up programs like Social Security. In reality, it’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress. Yes, taxpayer dollars support early-stage research. But the real payoff comes later—in the jobs created, cures discovered, and industries launched when universities and private industry turn those discoveries into real products. By comparison, the sums at stake in patent licensing are trivial. Universities collectively earn only about $3.6 billion annually in patent income—less than the federal government spends on Social Security in a single day. Even confiscating half would barely register against a $6 trillion federal budget. And yet the damage from such a policy would be anything but trivial. The true return on taxpayer investment isn’t in licensing checks sent to Washington, but in the downstream economic activity that federally supported research unleashes. Thanks to the bipartisan Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, universities and private industry have powerful incentives to translate early-stage discoveries into real-world products. Before Bayh-Dole, the government hoarded patents from federally funded research, and fewer than 5% were ever licensed. Once universities could own and license their own inventions, innovation exploded. The result has been one of the best returns on investment in government history. Since 1996, university research has added nearly $2 trillion to U.S. industrial output, supported 6.5 million jobs, and launched more than 19,000 startups. Those companies pay…
