SBI VC Trade, the crypto exchange operated by Japanese giant SBI Holdings, has expanded its crypto lending service to include Litecoin. On January 29, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., the exchange started taking applications for LTC lending. The offer is available to eligible users in Japan who have completed account verification with the platform.
SBI VC Trade operates under Japan’s regulatory framework for crypto asset exchange service providers. The addition of Litecoin lending adds another use case for LTC holders who want to earn interest through a domestic provider while keeping settlement in the same asset.
The lending service is offered through a product labeled Lending Coin on the exchange. Under this structure, users lend a specified quantity of cryptocurrency to SBI VC Trade for a fixed term. It then returns the principal and fee in the same crypto. The program supports more than 30 cryptocurrencies, from Bitcoin and Ethereum to XRP and Cardano, as well as memecoins like Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu.
SBI VC Trade sets lending periods that range between 7 and 28 days, depending on the specific offering. The exchange published a fee formula. The utilization fee equals the lending quantity multiplied by the annual rate and the lending period, then divided by 365. Rates vary by asset and term.
Additionally, the platform lists that some offerings can reach up to 20% per year on a tax-inclusive basis, but users must check the current display for the applicable Litecoin rate.
Minimum lending amounts vary by coin and by product window. Once an application is accepted and the lending period begins, early termination is not allowed. Repayment is made in the same crypto, including the earned fee. The service terms also state that hard forks during the lending period do not generate additional distribution of newly created forked coins to the lender.
Therefore, the update places Litecoin alongside other large-cap assets already supported within SBI VC Trade’s lending menu. The Litecoin Foundation referenced the addition on X, stating that the exchange serves a large user base in Japan.
SBI Holdings is a Tokyo-based financial group with operations across banking, securities, and asset management. Its digital asset activities include trading and related services through regulated entities. Users seeking current Litecoin lending availability, terms, and rates are directed to SBI VC Trade’s official website.
Moreover, CNF reported that founder Charlie Lee shared his outlook on LTC during an interview on the Thinking Crypto podcast. He said Litecoin’s fair launch and decentralization helped it remain in use for payments with low fees and fast transactions.
At reporting time, the LTC price was $59.9, with a 24-hour trading volume of about $419 million and a market cap of about $4.59 billion.
