Breakout From Base Opens Path Toward $0.12–$0.13

  • CC has broken above its multi-week base and reclaimed the full EMA stack, flipping short-term structure decisively bullish.
  • Momentum remains one-sided, with shallow pullbacks and strong directional strength after clearing $0.085 resistance.
  • DTCC’s Canton Network partnership adds a credible institutional catalyst, supporting acceptance above former range highs.

Canton price today trades near $0.099, extending a sharp upside move after breaking out of a multi-week base. The rally marks a clear change in short-term control, with buyers forcing price above key EMAs for the first time since the broader downtrend began. The question now is whether CC can hold above former resistance or fades back into its range.

Base Break Above EMAs Signals Shift In Control

On the 4-hour chart, CC spent most of November and early December building a flat base between $0.060 and $0.085. Sellers repeatedly failed to push price below the range low, while volatility compressed.

That structure resolved higher this week. Price reclaimed the 20, 50, and 100 EMAs in quick succession, then pushed through the 200 EMA near $0.088. That move flipped the entire EMA stack into support for the first time in months.

Parabolic SAR has also flipped below price, confirming trend direction has turned higher on this timeframe. This is not a random spike. It is a breakout from compression.

Short-Term Momentum Remains One-Sided

On the 30-minute chart, CC accelerated aggressively after clearing $0.085. Price is now holding above VWAP, with successive higher lows forming after the initial expansion.

DMI shows a strong directional skew. The positive directional index has pushed above 48, while the negative index continues to fade. That reflects trend strength, not exhaustion.

There are no signs of distribution yet. Pullbacks remain shallow and quickly bid. Until that changes, sellers lack leverage.

That said, price is extended short term. Any failure to hold above $0.090 would invite a deeper retest toward $0.085.

DTCC Catalyst Reinforces The Move

The technical breakout did not occur in isolation. CC gained traction after DTCC announced a partnership with Canton Network to tokenize DTCC-custodied assets, beginning with a subset of U.S. Treasury securities.

The move follows SEC approval via a No-Action Letter and targets an MVP launch in early 2026. DTCC will also join Canton Network governance, directly shaping standards for regulated tokenized markets.

This matters because DTCC is not an experimental player. It sits at the center of global settlement infrastructure. Its involvement shifts Canton from concept to implementation.

Privacy Narrative Adds Structural Support

Canton’s move also aligns with broader strength across privacy-linked assets. Zcash is up more than 650% since mid-September. Monero has gained 8% in a week and doubled over the past year, outperforming Bitcoin during the same period.

The launch of Canton and IO-founded Midnight has drawn renewed attention to privacy-preserving infrastructure at a time when regulatory tone has softened rather than hardened.

This backdrop does not guarantee upside, but it explains why dips are being bought rather than sold.

Outlook. Will Canton Go Up?

CC has broken out, but follow-through matters now.

  • Bullish case: Holding above $0.090 and closing above $0.10 would confirm acceptance and open upside toward $0.115 and $0.125.
  • Bearish case: A rejection at $0.10 followed by a drop below $0.085 would signal a failed breakout and pull price back into the prior range.

Two weeks ago, the CFTC gave Polymarket the green light to allow those very same US residents to place bets on whatever they like. This is quite the turn of events — and it’s not just about elections or politics. With its US government seal of approval in hand, Polymarket is reportedly raising capital at a valuation of $9 billion — a reflection of the growing belief that prediction markets will be used for much more than betting on elections once every four years. Instead, proponents say prediction markets can provide a real service to the world by providing it with better information about nearly everything. I think they might, too — but only if insiders are free to participate. Yesterday, for example, Polymarket announced new betting markets on company earnings reports, with a promise that it would improve the information that investors have to work with.  Instead of waiting three months to find out how a company is faring, investors could simply watch the odds on Polymarket.  If the probability of an earnings beat is rising, for example, investors would know at a glance that things are going well. But that will only happen if enough of the people betting actually know how things are going. Relying on the wisdom of crowds to magically discern how a business is doing won’t add much incremental knowledge to the world; everyone’s guesses are unlikely to average out to the truth. If…
